More Realities of a Multi dog household

For about a month and a half, Anwyn had been struggling. She has struggled with her resource guarding( a behavior she has had since we got her but it was doing really well until this point). She has been struggling with guarding food, toys, spaces, and even people a bit. She is specifically struggling when Am is around. And it is worse when she is tired or grumpy in any way.

And when we have a change in behavior, we need to know why. Why did it change? And how do we fix it? Abd I think I know the main reason it has changed. Anwyn has struggled with eating her food appropriately for a bit. She is a bit picky and particular with food. And that pickyness has led to her not finishing her food. And thus girl gets hangry. That paired with the heat and not being able to expel enough mental energy for her meant that she was struggling hard with lots of things.

So I am changing things. Adding a calming supplement to help with some of her stress. Adding toppers to her food so she wants to eat abd not feel hungry. Spending time doing more training abd giving more enrichment. And managing situations that are going to be conflict inducing. Chewies, food, big things that buddy and I have. All separated.

This is the reality of a Multi dog household. Changes and troubles happen. Just like people, we can't expect them to get along all the time. And in those moments when they struggle, they need our support and help. Not judgement and punishments.

We are nowhere near where I would be happy forever with but currently, the changes have helped and we are making strides into the right direction.
